David Newman is Strategic Planning Manager, Senior Vice President, Innovation Group at Wells Fargo Bank. David also chairs the Semantic Technology program for the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council and leads the Council’s efforts to develop ontologies for the financial industry known as the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO). FIBO is a free and open source ontology that semantically describes business entities, derivatives, securities, loans, corporate actions and metadata. FIBO is being developed as the next generation global financial data standard. FIBO can be used to support macro-prudential and institutional risk management, regulatory compliance and reporting, risk analytics, as well as serve as a foundational set of semantic building blocks for enterprise data models and taxonomies. It therefore provides a solid basis for strategic fulfillment of BCBS-239. David is also responsible for the working group that is developing executable reference ontologies that demonstrate FIBO’s many advanced capabilities. In addition, David is starting an initiative to position elements of FIBO to be available for semantic markup of financial content for internet sites through a collaboration with Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. David is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on semantic technology as well as at regulatory and academic conferences on systemic financial risk. At Wells Fargo, David focuses on emerging technologies and innovation initiatives and leads the Wells Fargo Semantic Technology Community of Interest.

He joined Capital One as the Director of New York's Center for Machine Learning (C4ML) in 2017. In his spare time, he researches non-standard indicator signals to predict crypto-currency and stock movements on his home cluster. He is an avid cyclist living with his wife and daughter in NYC
Yves Chauvin is the Director of the Investment Data Platform at AXA-IM, Rosenberg Equity. He is responsible for data processing from supplier data to data integration and for the construction of data quality tools used in computer models for asset management. He started work in Machine Learning more than 20 years ago, when Machine Learning was seen as an alternative statistical tool to extract relevant knowledge from noisy data. One current topic of interest is how recent advances in Machine Learning may change or add constraints to data processing and knowledge management in the financial industry.
Lenny Alugas is the Senior Vice President for Global Operations across all business segments within Western Union, including the Money Transfer and Payments businesses. He is also responsible for defining and implementing the process for onboarding and managing the company’s relationship with over 500,000 agent locations. The organization is focused on delivering great experiences for Western Union customers, agents and partners that will drive greater customer retention and drive corporate revenue growth.
Prior to his current role, Lenny served as Senior Vice President for Global Renewals across all business segments within Symantec, including Norton Online renewals and the Symantec Enterprise and Commercial renewals. This represented over $3B of annual revenue. He was responsible for establishing a new Global Renewals organization – shifting the work of renewals team from the sales team and growing the team from 200 to more than 700 renewals employees globally. The organization built new capabilities across the company to make it easy to renew and add value to our customers in the renewal process.
Previously, Lenny served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide eCommerce at Symantec. He transformed Symantec’s eCommerce organization from an outsourced function to a comprehensive, internally developed and managed operation. His successful efforts placed Symantec’s online offering among the world’s largest software e-tailers. In addition, Symantec is now among the world’s largest software e-tailers with eCommerce solutions supporting 18 languages, 12 payment methods, 26 currencies and over 230 countries worldwide.
Previously, Lenny served as Vice President of Consumer Support and Services for Symantec, responsible for the launch of the company’s consumer PC services offering, NortonLive. Under his leadership, the Consumer Support organization won STAR awards in 2008 and 2009 from the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA, formerly SSPA).
Lenny joined Symantec through the VERITAS software merger, where he was Vice President of the company’s training business – partner training, customer training and sales training. He launched his technology career with Hewlett-Packard, where he spent 17 years in management, consulting and engineering roles.
Lenny holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from Columbia University.

Ms. Sendele holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Marquette University.
Mr. Sovine has more than twenty years of technology experience that has included retail software development, Internet startups, data warehousing and project management. During his time with Microsoft he obtained two patents with his fellow inventors in the data management space and built several solutions that improved Windows 7 stability. His current focus is managing project and data initiatives for Parametric where he is leading the master data management and stewardship programs. Mr. Sovine graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems.
